Erie County Sheriff Warrants and Jail Roster
The Erie County Sheriff's Office posts active warrant information online for public access. Check the Erie County Sheriff warrant database to search for outstanding warrants by name.
The Erie County Sheriff's warrant list is a public database. Each entry includes the subject's photo, full name, last known address, physical description (race, gender, height, weight, hair color, eye color), date the warrant was received, warrant number, and reason for the warrant. Common warrant reasons include criminal contempt, larceny, criminal mischief, probation violations, and drug offenses. This list is separate from but closely connected to the jail roster. When a person named on the warrant list is taken into custody, they appear on the Erie County jail roster.
People who have been booked on a warrant in Erie County go through the same booking process as other arrests. Their information is added to the jail roster, and their warrant status is noted in the record. Searching both the warrant list and the jail roster together gives you the most complete picture of someone's current situation in Erie County.
Note: The warrant list reflects outstanding warrants only. Once a warrant is served and the person is in custody, the warrant is removed from the active list and a jail roster entry is created.

Erie County Prison assigns visiting days by pod. A-Pod visits on Fridays, B-Pod on Saturdays, C-Pod on Sundays, D-Pod on Mondays, F-Pod on Tuesdays, G-Pod on Wednesdays, and J-Pod on Thursdays. E-#1, E-#2, and Special Housing visit on Tuesdays. A-RHU visits on Fridays. General visiting hours run from 8:00 AM to 11:00 AM, 12:30 PM to 2:00 PM, and 6:00 PM to 9:30 PM. Restrictive housing visits are by appointment from 7:30 AM to 8:00 AM.
Time limits vary by pod. General population inmates in most pods get one visit per week with up to three 20-minute time slots, for a maximum of 60 minutes. F-Pod inmates get two 20-minute slots for a maximum of 40 minutes. Restrictive housing inmates get one 30-minute slot. Each inmate may have no more than three individual visitors per visit. A parent or legal guardian may bring up to two minors. Minors over age two must have their own time slot and must stay with their legal guardian at all times.
Anyone on parole or probation, anyone with pending charges or active warrants, or anyone who is a victim of the inmate they want to visit will not be permitted entry. Grandparents count as one visitor only if they are the legal guardian with supporting documentation. Video visitation is available through Smart Jail Mail as an alternative to in-person visits.
